Pros

Cons

The Venture Airpod 3 is a travel cot and playpen with a raised newborn bassinet, spacious main cot and zipped side opening for play.

It includes a mattress, padded frame, mesh sides, wipe-clean dark grey fabric and a carry bag for storage and transport. The bassinet insert is suitable from birth to 6 months, while the larger cot space is designed for older babies and toddlers.

At £99.99, it sits at the more affordable end of the travel cot market, offering features often found on higher-priced models, including a newborn bassinet, tool-free assembly and a fold-down design for travel.

About our parent tester Terri tested Venture Airpod 3 Travel Cot with her 2.5-year-old daughter and 3-month-old son during an overnight stay at a relative's house and for daytime naps at home. They also tested how easy it was to set up, pack into the carry bag, and fit in the car boot.

How easy is the Venture Airpod 3 Travel Cot to assemble?

The travel cot arrived in a large cardboard box, with the cot stored inside in a protective carry bag. It contained 3 parts: the main body of the cot, the mattress and the newborn bassinet. It also included a small instruction manual.

No tools were needed for assembly. It was larger than I imagined, although this is understandable given the age and weight limits.

The instructions were super simple, with just a sentence for each step alongside clear illustrations. It took me 3 minutes to unpack and set up the first time, and it was even quicker after that. The main frame and legs simply click and lock into place.

The quality feels great: it’s very sturdy, all the mechanisms are covered with padded fabric, and the smaller parts are attached, so there’s less chance of anything getting lost or being left loose around children.

How easy is the Venture Airpod 3 travel cot to fold and pack away?

It's easy to fold down, and one person can do it alone very quickly. It took a matter of minutes to fold down and put back in the bag.

The clips for folding the legs are hidden under the padded fabric, and it wasn’t immediately clear how to use them the first time. However once I figured it out, it's very straightforward.

How portable is the Venture Airpod 3 travel cot?

The cot is a lot lighter than I expected for its size, and I could easily carry it upstairs on my own using the carry bag.

It's bigger than some alternatives, so if you have a smaller car boot, I would suggest checking the measurements first before buying. This wasn't an issue for us, and we just popped our overnight bag on top of it in the car.

I would definitely take this on a UK staycation, to stay with family or for a hotel trip. Although the packed-down cot is less compact than some other travel cots, it fits under our toddler’s cot when not in use.

How comfortable is the Venture Airpod 3 travel cot for babies and toddlers?

The mattress is thick and supportive, and deeper than some others we’ve used in the past. It felt firm and held its shape well, which I found reassuring when using it with our 3 month old. Our toddler settled very well and slept through the night as she usually does in her own bed.

The newborn bassinet worked well for our baby. It was a good height for lowering him in when he was asleep, and he stayed asleep once put down. It attaches with a zip, which helped it feel well attached all the way around, although I found it a little fiddly to get the zip started.

The travel cot worked well for both of my children’s ages, and I would recommend it to parents looking for a travel cot that can work from the baby stage into toddlerhood.

How easy is it to see your baby or toddler in the Venture Airpod 3?

The mesh sides made it easy to see my toddler while she was sleeping or playing, but I found it harder to see my baby in the bassinet because of the double layer of fabric. The mesh sides also help with airflow, which felt useful in warmer weather.

I found the newborn bassinet a comfortable height, and it felt similar to our next-to-me crib, which seemed to make it feel more familiar for my baby as he was drifting off.

How sturdy is the Venture Airpod 3?

The wide base design of the cot means it takes up a lot of space, but it does also make it incredibly sturdy. I didn’t have any concerns about it tipping over or rocking while my eldest was playing in it.

The legs felt sturdy and the feet are fully attached, which gave me peace of mind that there were no loose parts around young children.

The zip for the play space makes it easy for my daughter to crawl in and out of. It zips from the outside, which means a mobile baby or toddler can be kept inside for short periods of supervised play.

How easy is the Venture Airpod 3 travel cot to clean?

The dark, wipe-clean fabric is very practical for little ones. It was easy to clean after use and didn’t show dirt easily.

How sustainable is the Venture Airpod 3 travel cot?

The delivery packaging was cardboard so completely recyclable. The cot feels good quality and sturdy, so I think it is likely to be regifted to friends or resold once our children no longer need it.

Is the Venture Airpod 3 travel cot worth the money?

I think it offers good value for money.

While it is more expensive than some budget travel cots, it feels built to last and has multiple uses, which makes it a good investment if you plan to use it from the baby stage through to toddlerhood.

MadeForMums verdict:

I would highly recommend the Venture Airpod 3 Travel Cot. It feels well made, is incredibly easy to assemble and is light enough to transport, while the newborn bassinet and spacious main cot mean it can be used across several stages.

The mesh sides help with airflow and make it easy to see your child, particularly in the main cot mode.

Overall, it’s a strong option for families who want a sturdy travel cot for naps at home, nights away and supervised play, but it is worth checking the dimensions if you’re short on space.
