Pros

Cons

As its name gives away, the Momcozy Air 1 Ultra-Slim Wearable Pump is designed to be one of Momcozy’s most discreet wearable breast pumps. Measuring 6cm thick, Momcozy says it is 20% slimmer than conventional wearable pumps, making it a compact option for parents who want to pump more discreetly at home, in the office or out and about.

At £419.99 for the double pump, the Air 1 sits at the premium end of the wearable breast pump market, priced above Momcozy’s M9 and S12 Pro models and closer to high-end competitors such as the Elvie Double Electric Breast Pump (£499).

Its standout features include a transparent top to help with nipple alignment and milk-volume checks, app connectivity, up to 280mmHg suction, 15 pumping levels and a travel charging case.

To see how it performs in everyday life, we tested it as part of a regular feeding routine, including pumping at home, out and about and overnight.

About our parent tester

Rebecca tested the Momcozy Air 1 Ultra-Slim Wearable Pump as part of her regular feeding routine, using it daily for hands-free pumping around the home, on the go and at night while building up a freezer supply. With more than 15 years of experience in the industry, freelance journalist Rebecca has written product reviews for MadeForMums previously. Her reviews have also appeared in The Telegraph, Marie Claire, The Standard and more. Her first role in the industry was at Mother&Baby and Pregnancy&Birth magazine in 2011. In 2025, she became a first-time mum.

How easy is the Momcozy Air 1 to set up?

It’s relatively easy to set up the pump and start using the Air 1. But it’s worth setting aside at least 30 minutes to get to grips with the pumps and, more importantly, how to operate them with the Momcozy app they pair with.

The pumps come with a chunky instruction booklet, a digestible quick-start guide (thank goodness!) and a QR code you can scan, which takes you to a step-by-step four-minute video explaining all you need to know. Without the video, I would have found the initial setup much harder.

Before first use, each pump needs to be charged separately. The good news is that the pumps come pre-assembled, so you just have to plug them in.

Once they are fully charged, they need to be disassembled into seven separate pieces (this includes the flange cover, flange, diaphragm, two milk collectors, valve and your chosen nipple-to-flange insert), cleaned and sterilised. Once you have downloaded the Momcozy app and connected your pumps, they’re good to go. You’ll just need to decide from three different modes: auto mode, manual or milk boost.

Due to all this tech, I wouldn’t say that the pumps felt effortless to use (it’s certainly not an unbox-and-go situation). But the four-minute starter guide gives you a thorough lowdown on the most important bits and sets you up for your pumping journey.

Either way, it really was an experience in itself opening and using these pumps!

How comfortable is the Momcozy Air 1 to wear?

The Air 1 pumps felt like a well-cushioned hug for your boobs (who’d have thought?!). Lightweight at well under 300g each, slim and fitted with a soft, flexible silicone flange, the pumps fit inside pretty much every bra I own.

I used them in maternity bras, medium-support sports bras, and seamless-yet-somewhat supportive crop-top bras. I would highlight that you need to ensure you wear a bra that offers some sort of support, as otherwise (and as I experienced) the pump might slip off.

What’s nice about the Air 1 is that the pump motor isn’t positioned at just the top or bottom. Instead, it’s circular, which meant the pump felt balanced rather than as though it was pulling down on my breast.

I used the Air 1 pumps for anywhere between 10-25-minutes at a time. And the pumps felt comfortable either way.

How discreet is the Momcozy Air 1?

The Air 1 pumps were far less noticeable than other wearable pumps I’ve tried. It just looked like my chest was slightly fuller. I didn’t have to pump with an unbuttoned top for them to work their milk-pumping magic.

Sound-wise, I pretty much used the pumps religiously on suction level 6, which meant they operated at around 40dB. This is equivalent to the noise level of a quiet library. This meant I could pump while my daughter napped without waking her.

As long as I had a supportive and full-coverage bra on, the pumps felt comfortable and secure while on the go.

I used the pumps while nipping out to the supermarket, during a witching-hour walk, while completing chores around the home, along with more stationary tasks, like sitting at my desk.

Most times, I would forget they were on. It’s only when bending down that they felt like they might come flying off. But this only happened on one occasion!

How effective is the Momcozy Air 1 at expressing milk?

For all their sleekness, I was surprised to learn that the Air 1 pumps come with 280mmHg of suction strength and up to 15 pumping levels. This is a high suction level for a wearable pump, although it sits slightly below some more powerful models.

The pumps come with three settings. Auto Mode (which intelligently switches from stimulation to expression), Manual Mode (where you could choose whether you want stimulation, expression or a mixed pump) and Custom Mode, which Momcozy says uses expert-set rhythms for needs such as engorgement, milk supply and personalised pumping.

I didn’t think that these pumps would result in a lot of milk being collected, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Personally speaking, the consistency across sessions varied for me, which was to be expected depending on the time I pumped. During 4am pumps, I expressed more milk. During the day, pumps resulted in less milk being collected. But either way, I think this will be person-dependent.

Due to their long battery life (Momcozy states that the battery can last for up to 15 pumping sessions) and smart technology, which Momcozy says can detect your milk let-down, I think the Air 1 pumps are best used for shorter, efficient pumping sessions as they are efficient and discreet.

How easy is the Momcozy Air 1 to use day to day?

Very. Thanks to their transparent milk collection top and handy measurements on the side, it’s easy to align your nipple and see how much milk you have gathered. The app also tells you how much milk you have pumped in real time and alerts you when the pump is nearly full.

The pumps come with four buttons, including a mode selector, increase and decrease suction level buttons and an on/off, pause/continue button. But you can easily control the pumps via the app and switch between modes and suction strengths. I found it easier to do so rather than manually pressing the buttons, as you can’t see what level or mode you’re on.

The battery life felt very reliable during testing. Momcozy says the pumps can deliver up to 6 30-minute sessions, or up to 15 sessions when used with the charging case.

How easy is the Momcozy Air 1 to clean?

It’s easy to clean and maintain. Aside from the motor, there are several parts to wash, including the flange cover, flange, diaphragm, milk collectors, valve and your chosen nipple-to-flange insert.

After you have cleaned them, they need to be sterilised and then dried or left to air dry.

Like anything, doing so can seem confusing at first. But after dismantling once and assembling, it’s like second nature. So the day-to-day upkeep was easy.

How does the Momcozy Air 1 compare to the Momcozy S12 Pro?

Compared with the Momcozy S12 Pro, the Air 1 pumps are noticeably slimmer and much easier to hide under clothing. The S12 Pro is bulkier and more visible, and I found it better suited to sitting and pumping at home.

The S12 Pro is slightly louder at around 45dB and has a higher claimed suction strength of 295mmHg, compared with 280mmHg on the Air 1. In my experience, the S12 Pro may have the edge for suction and output, while the Air 1 is the better choice for discretion and pumping on the go.

What is the build quality like?

Very! The Air 1 pumps feel like a luxurious product, and the quality of the materials is in keeping with that.

The food-grade silicone flange feels soft yet durable against the skin, the milk collectors are made from hard-wearing PPSU plastic and when you purchase the pumps you get a one-year warranty.

Momcozy recommends replacing parts every six months if you’re pumping frequently. After using pretty much every day for over a month, I’m yet to see any signs of wear and tear.

How sustainable is the Momcozy Air 1?

Durable and designed for frequent use, the Air 1 could work as a main pump or as a highly portable second pump, depending on your pumping needs. While it is not classified as hospital-grade, it does offer high suction levels for a wearable pump.

For extra peace of mind, it also comes with a one-year warranty. So depending on how long and how frequently you plan to pump, you may only need to replace certain parts once or none at all.

On the plus side, the packaging is fully recyclable.

Is the Momcozy Air 1 worth the money?

If you’re planning on going back to work while breastfeeding, want to pump discreetly from an office (or anywhere for that matter) and need a smart device to take all the guesswork out of pumping — yes. The same goes for if you want pumping to feel like a luxurious experience.

But if you plan on pumping from home (whether that’s to build up a freezer stock or relieve engorgement) and don’t mind your pump being on show, then no.

At more than £400 for the double pump, the Air 1 is a costly investment. Yes, it feels worthwhile if you value discretion, smart features and app-led modes that can be used on the go.

But if you are establishing supply, feeding multiples, exclusively pumping or unable to breastfeed directly, you may prefer to seek advice from a feeding specialist and consider a more powerful pump.

MadeForMums verdict:

The Momcozy Air 1 makes pumping on the move feel easier, more discreet and more comfortable than many wearable pumps I’ve tried. It is expensive, but the slim design, smart features and charging case help justify the premium price if discretion is your priority.

I’d recommend it to parents who value smart tech, are returning to the office or want a discreet wearable pump for use on the go.
