Pros

Cons

The Elvie Rise is a 2-in-1 smart bouncer and bassinet designed to give parents one place for supervised awake time, soothing and, once switched into bassinet mode, daytime rest.

At £599.99, the Elvie Rise is an innovative, premium new product that sits between a baby bouncer, bassinet and smart soothing device, combining several pieces of early baby kit in one app-connected design. Its impressive hybrid design also helped it win Silver for Parenting Innovation at the 2026 MadeForMums Tech Awards.

Key features include SootheLoop™ technology, which can repeat your own bounce pattern, app-controlled bouncing and sleep insights, manual bouncer mode, cordless use, a collapsible design, and a firm, flat mattress in bassinet mode.

It is important to be clear that the Elvie Rise is not safe for sleep or unsupervised use in bouncer mode. If your baby falls asleep in bouncer mode, the brand guidance is to switch the product into bassinet mode so they are lying on the firm, flat mattress.

About our parent tester Anya Gilbert tested the Elvie Rise with her baby aged 2 months at home over 4 weeks, using it for supervised awake time, soothing, settling, bassinet mode, moving between rooms and everyday family routines. How easy is the Elvie Rise to set up?

Unboxing and building the Elvie Rise is very quick; you screw in the legs, click the bassinet into place and connect the magnetic charger. The charging port sits in a fiddly spot below the baby hub, so it’s difficult to connect unless you’re crouching down or lying on the floor — not ideal if your mobility is limited.

The instruction manual clearly sets out each step and is packed with safety warnings to ensure you’re aware of how to use the bouncer and bassinet modes safely.

When it comes to setting up the app, it’s a very user-friendly process. Graphics guide you through connecting the hub to the app on your phone via Bluetooth, then the safe setup and use of each mode. The bouncer hub has a multi-use button and soft light on the front which you absolutely need the instruction manual to understand how to use – it has multiple colours and behaviours to indicate its different modes.

Once set up, the product has a reassuring heft and sturdiness, and the non-slip feet didn’t budge on either wooden or carpeted floors.

How easy is it to switch the Elvie Rise from bouncer to bassinet mode?

Changing from bouncer to bassinet mode is relatively simple, but it does require two hands; one to release the button at the base of the hub and lift whilst the other stabilises the hub.

The frame also needs a final stretch away from the base at each end before it clicks securely into place. It also requires a little more force than I was expecting and would be best done by a partner if you’re recovering from birth.

It could be smoother, as the movement may wake your baby if you don’t control it carefully. The upside is that you don’t need to lift or reposition your baby during the switch.

The straps used during bounce mode retract back into the hub and take some guiding back into their slot between the baby’s legs. If they’re not guided back properly, they can stop the bassinet clicking fully into place.

How does the Elvie Rise work as a bouncer?

There are two bouncer positions to choose from depending on your baby's stage; a slightly more reclined option for newborns and another for babies who can hold their heads up. Both click into place using the button at the base of the hub, which is also how you transform the hub into the bassinet.

The straps pull out from inside the hub and click into place on the outer walls to secure your baby in bouncer mode. There’s a knack to using these buttons and it took me a couple of attempts to find the right angle, but they felt very secure once fastened.

When set up for bouncer mode, the straps stay out, then unclip automatically and retract when you switch it into bassinet mode.

The hub has a comfortable and soft padded base sheet that changes shape automatically to support your baby properly from sitting to lying.

Once clipped in, you have the option for a manual bounce mode where the baby can make their own fun with a smooth and natural bounce, or you can set a bounce pattern for the unit to remember using the SootheLoop function.

How well does the SootheLoop™ technology work?

The instruction manual makes it easy to use the SootheLoop function. Using the right-hand button, you set your preferred bounce level and intensity, which the hub then repeats for 20 minutes.

You don’t need the app to use this function, but the app connection gives you remote control of the bounce intensity from your phone when paired via Bluetooth which is convenient for settling your little one if you’ve otherwise got your hands full.

It’s essential to always keep your baby and bouncer within sight, but this remote control was particularly useful for use in the kitchen whilst the baby was at a safe distance from the stove.

My baby seemed comfortable in the bouncer and was more entertained than soothed by the bounce modes, especially when setting his own rhythm. If he was already fussing, adjusting the bounce rarely settled him. However, if he was relaxed when placed in the bouncer, he often started to drift off, so I had to watch him closely and switch to bassinet mode if needed.

How useful is the Elvie Rise bassinet mode?

The bassinet feels similar in size to many pushchair carrycots. The mattress is firm, flat and supportive with very soft material. During testing, we experienced a heatwave with temperatures up to 39°C and found that the mesh-style bassinet walls allowed some indirect airflow from fans to reach him during naps.

The slot where the bouncer’s straps retract into for bassinet mode isn’t depressed into the mattress and is relatively hard plastic, not a problem if the baby is positioned properly with it between the legs but it would be uncomfortable to lie on.

If your baby likes to stretch out in their cot, they may find the bassinet narrow and could outgrow the space earlier than expected.

Now that our baby is 11lb, I’ve noticed a slight tilt towards the head end, despite the bassinet being securely clicked in. Combined with the position of the retracted straps, this means that if your baby is fast-growing or has a longer torso, they may outgrow the bassinet’s dimensions before the 5-month/10kg limit.

How easy is the Elvie Soothe & Sleep app to use?

Once downloaded, the app connects via Bluetooth and gives you remote control of the bouncer’s level. You can also auto-track naps and the time your baby spends in bassinet mode, then view sleep patterns over time — this is a unique insight. There’s also a light on the bassinet to indicate which function you’re selecting.

How practical is the Elvie Rise for everyday use?

The 2-in-1 design is undeniably convenient if you’re short on space, and the contemporary look means it doesn’t feel like bulky baby kit.

It’s also a great performer, acting as a comfortable, supportive and safe spot to place your baby outside of their bedroom cot temporarily — perfect for anyone alone with their baby for much of the day. It’s much larger than your standard bouncer, but standard for a bassinet.

The carry groove at the sides of the baby hub makes it relatively simple to move when the legs are collapsed — although it’s heavy and bulky to do so. I much preferred keeping in one position and using our back-up bouncer in other rooms.

Once fully charged, we found we only needed to recharge it around once a week, based on roughly 2 uses a day. The product guidelines state that you get 4 hours of bouncing for a baby at minimum weight, on the lowest bounce.

How easy is the Elvie Rise to clean and maintain?

The padded sheet is a bamboo fibre and spandex blend. It’s removable, washable and can be tumble dried.

The light colour does show the aftermath of neon nappy blow-outs, so it’s worth having a good stain remover to hand! There is, however, a water-resistant layer beneath the padded sheet, which can be wiped clean. The harness and the outer side walls can also be wiped.

How portable is the Elvie Rise?

If you want to move it from room to room, the legs collapse flat against the base of the hub. This makes it easier to move and to store, but it would be a faff to travel with – mainly due to the size and heft of its smart hub.

It works best kept in the room where you spend the most time. My baby enjoyed sitting and watching me cook in the kitchen.

What is the design and build quality like?

It’s a great looking piece of contemporary baby kit with a softly architectural design.

The solid beech wood legs feel incredibly sturdy. The whole product looks high quality, which is what you’d expect from this price point.

How does the Elvie Rise compare with other bouncers and bassinets?

The Elvie Rise feels most useful in a room you use constantly, such as the kitchen or living room, where you want a supervised, hands-free place for your baby during awake time.

It’s great for babies who don’t like spending too much wake-time on their back in a moses basket or like to be upright and engaged in their surroundings more. It shouldn’t replace a cot.

The most valuable feature for us was SootheLoop, as setting a bounce pattern gave me more hands-free time to get bits and bobs done.

The ability to track your baby’s sleep is a unique insight and useful for keeping track of naps. But remote ability to control the bouncing to settle your baby might make it easier to miss when they’ve fallen asleep which is a safety risk in bounce mode — particularly if you’re distracted. So this wasn’t something we used repeatedly.

What’s in the box?

Is the Elvie Rise worth the money?

If you can afford the premium price, it’s undeniably useful to have one product that can entertain your baby during supervised awake time and then switch into bassinet mode for naps.

The SootheLoop function may also lengthen the amount of hands-free time you get, plus the auto-tracking of naps through to the app takes away the need to log naps manually. If you can justify the cost, it’s a practical modern solution. For families who already have separate sleep and soothing products, it may be less essential.

How sustainable is the Elvie Rise?

By combining 2 short-life baby products in one, the Elvie Rise may help reduce the baby-gear list, although it is only suitable for a limited early-baby period.

The padded sheets are washable and replaceable, which could help if using it for more than one baby. However, the smart technology and battery may make repairs or recycling more complicated. On the plus side, it feels like a desirable product that could have good resale appeal and be used by more than one family.

MadeForMums verdict:

The Elvie Rise is a stylish and genuinely clever 2-in-1 product that worked well for supervised awake time, hands-free bouncing and bassinet naps in testing.

The SootheLoop function and app controls are useful, particularly if you often need both hands free, and the design feels sturdy, premium and space-saving compared with owning separate newborn kit.

However, it is heavy to move, expensive for a product with a relatively short lifespan, and the switch into bassinet mode takes more force than expected. Parents also need to be very clear that bouncer mode is not suitable for sleep or unsupervised use. If you have the budget and want a smart, good-looking product to keep in one main living space, it could be a practical buy; if you already own a bouncer and safe sleep space, it may feel less essential.
