The CuddleCo Soft Play Large 4-Piece Set is a modular indoor soft play set designed for preschoolers and young children who love climbing, crawling, balancing and building their own obstacle courses.
Made up of 4 foam shapes with removable wipe-clean covers, it can be rearranged into different setups for active and imaginative play.
To see how it performs in real life, we tested the set at home with a 4 year old, using it for climbing, sliding, obstacle courses and imaginative play in a shared bedroom.

About our parent tester
Charlotte tested the CuddleCo Soft Play Large 4-Piece Set at home with her 4-year-old daughter Edie, using it in the bedroom Edie shares with her 2.5-year-old sister. Edie used the set for climbing, sliding, obstacle courses and imaginative play.

How easy is the CuddleCo Soft Play Large 4-Piece Set to set up?
The soft play set arrived well packaged in one box and unboxing was quick and straightforward, with no excessive packaging to deal with.
The foam pieces were vacuum packed together, with the covers supplied in a separate bag. First impressions were positive: the shapes are a good size for young children, and the colours are soft and modern, fitting nicely into a home environment without feeling overly bright or plastic-looking.

How engaging is the CuddleCo soft play set for your child?
Edie was so excited when she saw it and couldn’t wait to start playing. Her first reaction was to set it up like the picture on the front of the box and try out the slide.
It’s been great for encouraging both imaginative and active play — she’s turned it into everything from a climbing frame to a "lava floor" game. Because the pieces can be used in lots of different ways, it has kept her busy for longer play sessions as well as shorter bursts.
What types of play does it support?
The set supports lots of different styles of play. It works particularly well for climbing and balancing, and Edie also used it for pretend play, including making dens, castles and obstacle courses.
One of the standout features is how versatile the pieces are. They’re lightweight enough for Edie to move around herself, so she can change the layout independently and come up with her own games.

How safe and stable does it feel during supervised play?
In terms of safety and stability, I had no concerns during supervised play. The foam is thick enough to feel cushioning, and the pieces felt stable during climbing and jumping.
They grip the floor reasonably well, although on very smooth surfaces they can shift slightly during more energetic play — which is fairly typical for a soft play set. Overall, it felt reassuring for everyday supervised use.
How practical is the CuddleCo soft play set in the home?
Practically, it works well in a home setting. It does take up quite a bit of space when fully laid out, but the pieces can be stacked or rearranged to fit smaller areas.
It fits nicely in Edie’s bedroom without dominating the space, and because the pieces are lightweight, it’s easy to move the set between rooms when needed. It’s also simple to stack neatly in a corner when not in use.

How easy is it to clean?
Cleaning is very easy. The surfaces are wipe-clean, which is ideal for everyday mess, sticky hands or spills. A quick wipe is usually enough, although the covers can also be unzipped and machine washed if needed.
How well made does it feel?
The overall build quality feels strong and durable. The fabric is soft but sturdy, the foam holds its shape well and the stitching appears secure, with no loose seams.
The only piece that felt slightly less stable was the shape with the circular cut-out when the insert wasn’t in place, as it could bend slightly under weight. Overall, though, it stood up well to energetic play.

How does it compare to other soft play sets?
Compared with other soft play sets we’ve used, this one feels more thoughtfully designed for home use. It strikes a nice balance between being practical for active play and aesthetically suited to a living space, whereas some alternatives can feel bulky or overly bright.
What’s in the box?
- Foam wedge
- Foam step
- Foam block
- Foam platform
- Covers for the foam shapes
- Instructions

How sustainable is it?
The materials feel durable enough to support long-term use, which is important from a sustainability perspective. It feels like the kind of set that could be passed down or reused rather than replaced quickly.
Is the CuddleCo Soft Play Large 4-Piece Set worth the money?
Overall, the quality feels in line with the price. Given how often it has been used and how engaged Edie is with it, it feels like good value compared with similar soft play sets designed for home use.
Where can I buy the CuddleCo Soft Play Large 4-Piece Set?
It is available from Cuddle Co, John Lewis, Very and Boots

MadeForMums verdict:
This is a well-designed, versatile soft play set that has quickly become part of our daily play routine. It’s used multiple times a day and supports both active movement and imaginative games, from climbing and sliding to obstacle courses and pretend play.
I would recommend it particularly for families looking for a neutral, flexible soft play option that works well in a home environment, as long as they have enough floor space to use it fully.
