Pros

Cons

The Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco is a lightweight, eco-conscious compact pushchair designed for parents who want something easy to fold, store and carry, without losing the everyday features of a larger stroller.

It’s built for compact convenience and everyday functionality, with key features including a near-flat recline, adjustable calf support for growing children, an ultra-compact one-step fold with auto-lock, and sustainable fabric made from recycled materials.

We tested it with both a newborn, using the separately-sold carrycot, and a 2-year-old toddler in the seat unit, across pavements, cafés, car trips, nursery drop-offs, errands and short suburban walks.

How easy is the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco to set up?

The Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco arrived largely pre-assembled, with only a few minor steps required like attaching the wheels and canopy

The instructions included were clear with good diagrams. It only took me around five minutes to get it fully set up. Attaching the carrycot (which is sold separately) was straightforward once I located the attachment clips.

How does the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco work with the carrycot?

Attaching and removing the carrycot is relatively easy, thanks to visible release buttons and simple docking clips. My newborn seemed comfortable and well supported inside, and the carrycot interior felt padded, breathable and cosy.

One thing to note is that I didn’t need to remove the toddler seat to attach the carrycot. The carrycot sits above the seat unit, parent-facing, while the seat remains underneath.

How comfortable is the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco for toddlers?

The toddler seat worked really well for my 2 year old. There was enough headroom and legroom for him to seem comfortable on nursery drop-offs and longer outings, and the adjustable calf support came into its own for extra support.

The multi-position recline is good, although it is not completely flat. We didn’t test a nap in the seat, but it looked comfortable enough for a short rest.

The harness felt secure for this type of pushchair, and the no-rethread design makes it easier to adjust as your child grows.

My toddler was able to get in and out of the seat easily and seemed very happy once strapped in. Overall, performance feels strong for this size and style of pushchair.

What is the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco like to push?

On smooth pavements and town or suburban surfaces, the pushchair feels light and responsive. It handles kerbs and tight shop aisles well, and I could confidently steer it one-handed through most standard urban settings.

The wheels are lightweight and the front swivel lock helps with control. However, on cobbles or rougher suburban terrain, I did notice the limited suspension compared with heavier, all-terrain prams. It was manageable, but you feel more of the bumps. Some babies may not mind the extra jiggle, but others might find it more disruptive on uneven surfaces.

The handlebar height was comfortable for both me and my partner (we are both on the taller side). We were pleasantly surprised by this, as there is no height adjustment, which is usually a drawback for us with prams.

I’d say it is best suited to urban or suburban terrain with mostly decent paths. If your walks involve a lot of gravel, grass or off-track surfaces, you may feel its limits.

How compact is the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco fold?

Folding is a definite strong point. The one-step, ultra-compact fold with auto-lock is quick and satisfying to use, and the included carry bag is a useful extra.

To fold it, you press the release buttons at the handlebar, pull up, let the chassis collapse, then fold it down. After a couple of practice attempts, the fold took me under 5 seconds. Unfolding it is equally quick: unlatch the auto-lock, stand the chassis up and pull it open until it locks into use.

It can be done one-handed if you’re confident. Once folded, it is very compact and fitted easily in our car boot. However, unlike some competing models, it does not self-stand when folded, so you need to lean it against something or place it on the floor.

Its folded dimensions are 63.5cm x 50.5cm x 19cm.

What are the hood and storage like?

The canopy is generous for a compact stroller. It offers UV50+ protection and has a magnetic peek-a-boo window, giving good coverage for day-to-day use. If the sun is very low, or you’re in stronger glare, you might still wish for a deeper hood.

The storage basket can hold a changing bag and jacket comfortably with either the carrycot or seat unit attached, but you may feel restricted if you want to carry a lot with you. There are no dedicated cup holders or small zip pockets built in, so you may want an add-on organiser for smaller items such as your phone or keys.

What is the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco like for style and build quality?

The design is modern and stylish, with the eco fabric giving it a textured, upmarket feel. The chassis looks clean and minimalist, and the frame feels sturdy for such a lightweight pushchair.

For this price point and category, it feels robust and stylish enough for everyday use, while still looking compact and streamlined.

How sustainable is the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco?

Baby Jogger says the fabrics are made using recycled materials, and they felt soft, good quality and pleasant to touch. I would recommend it as a greener choice for parents wanting a compact, well-designed stroller with more sustainable credentials.

The fabrics are easy to keep clean: the seat unit cover can be removed and machine-washed (cold, gentle cycle) per the care instructions. For day-to-day, a damp cloth on the frame and wheels is sufficient. Overall maintenance seems low hassle.

What’s in the box?

Note: The carrycot is sold separately.

Is the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco worth the money?

For me, it is worth the money.

The pushchair RRPs at £329 and for this price, you get good comfort for a toddler, newborn carrycot compatibility, eco fabrics, an excellent fold and a stylish design.

Compared with some ultra-travel strollers, it offers better day-to-day usability. Compared with full-size prams, it can’t match the same storage space or terrain capability, so it depends on your priorities.

If you want a compact main buggy that can work from baby to toddler in an urban or suburban setting, it is an easy pushchair to recommend. If you do mostly off-road walks, have multiple children or carry a very full changing bag, you may want a larger everyday model.

MadeForMums verdict

The Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco stands out most for its compact fold, ease of use and impressive comfort with both the carrycot and toddler seat in a city or suburban environment. The eco fabrics and stylish design are welcome bonuses.

Its few drawbacks – the smaller basket, non-self-standing fold and reduced performance on rougher terrain – feel fairly minor for this category. If you’re looking for a smart, travel-friendly everyday pushchair, the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco certainly hits the mark.
