Christmas shopping can feel like a lot, especially when every new toy seems to be vying for a place on your child's Christmas list. True Toys is taking a slightly different approach this year, with a festive edit designed to highlight toys its team genuinely thinks are worth knowing about.

The online toy retailer has unveiled its first-ever The True List ahead of its first Christmas since relaunching as True Toys this summer. Rather than ranking toys from best to worst, the list features 14 picks, with each one chosen for a different reason.

What is The True List?
True Toys says there is no No.1 spot, and no paid-for or sponsored placements on The True List. Instead, its team has independently selected every toy featured.
The retailer says the list is intended to look beyond which toys are predicted to be the biggest sellers, focusing instead on the different ways a toy can make a good Christmas present.
That could mean a gift that delivers a big reaction on Christmas morning, offers plenty of play for its price, keeps children entertained well beyond Boxing Day or is simply a less obvious choice that deserves more attention.

Why True Toys says these toys made the list
Alex Woolfstein, Commercial Director at True Toys, said the retailer wanted its first Christmas list to offer more than another set of predictions about the season's biggest toys.
“It’s our first Christmas as True Toys, so we didn’t want to just put another list out there. We wanted to give a true reason why we believe every toy on The True List deserves its place,” said Alex.

According to Woolfstein, the team considered both major launches and toys that might otherwise be overlooked when making its choices.
“There were some tough decisions. There are so many brilliant launches this year, alongside the big names everyone talks about. This may be our first Christmas as True Toys, yet we have years of toy buying experience behind us and as parents ourselves, we understand the reality of choosing the right gifts. We also wanted to shine a light on a few toys we think families should have on their radar too.”
The list includes familiar names such as LEGO, Bluey, Peppa Pig, Disney Princess and Play-Doh, alongside creative toys, outdoor gifts and role-play options.

A Christmas list designed with family budgets in mind
True Toys says The True List reflects its wider approach to shopping for families, with an emphasis on value beyond simply the price of a product.
Woolfstein said: “Our list reflects what True Toys is all about. They’re our honest choices, made with real families and real budgets in mind. We hope The True List becomes something families can look out for and trust every Christmas, knowing that if a toy is on there, it’s because our team genuinely believes it deserves to be.”
The True List forms part of True Toys’ wider Christmas plans, with the retailer also preparing to launch its major festive campaign.
