What Pokémon Tonies can children get?

The new collection features four familiar Pokémon characters: Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle.

Each character has its own Tonie, giving children the chance to discover more about that Pokémon's traits, abilities and characteristics through audio.

The Tonies are compatible with both the Toniebox and Toniebox 2 and cost £14.99 each.

The audio adventures are designed to introduce younger listeners to the Pokémon world through storytelling and playful learning.

A Professor-Narrator guides children through the stories, answering questions and introducing concepts including Pokémon types, abilities and the role of Poké Balls on the journey to becoming a Pokémon Trainer.

There is also a Trainer Academy element, where children can solve puzzles and learn about the different Pokémon types.

What will children learn?

The age-appropriate audio experience explores questions such as which Pokémon belong to which type and what makes Fire-type and Water-type Pokémon different.

According to tonies, the aim is to combine storytelling with educational elements, encouraging curiosity and discovery while children listen.

The new content has been developed jointly by tonies and The Pokémon Company specifically for the Toniebox.

There is also a new Pikachu Toniebox 2

For families wanting to make a bigger Pokémon statement, the Toniebox 2 is getting a special-edition makeover.

The Lightning Yellow version is inspired by Pikachu and comes as a starter set with a Pikachu Tonie included. It costs £109.99.

The special-edition Toniebox 2 and the four individual Pokémon Tonies can be pre-ordered from tonies.com from 12 August, with online availability from 19 August and the products arriving in stores from 20 August.

How much do the Pokémon Tonies cost?

The launch could be a particularly appealing option for Pokémon-loving children who enjoy imaginative play and audio stories, giving them a way to explore the franchise without needing to turn on a screen.

With Pokémon celebrating 30 years since its launch in Japan in 1996, the collaboration also brings some of the franchise's most recognisable characters to a new generation of young fans.
