If you’re getting a head start on Christmas shopping, Amazon’s Prime Day sale can be a good opportunity to tick some of the bigger toys off your list for less. We’ve picked out the toy deals we think are most worth a look, covering everything from baby and toddler toys to LEGO, trains, dinosaurs, role play and STEM sets.

A big percentage off doesn’t automatically make something a great buy, so we’ve looked at the actual savings as well as what you’re getting for your money. Our picks include affordable stocking-up options alongside larger presents with more substantial savings.

Several of the toys featured are also MadeForMums Toy Awards 2025 winners. These are toys that have already been put through their paces by our expert judges, parents and children, and we’ve included some of their feedback below to help you decide whether a deal is right for your family.

We’ve grouped our picks by recommended age, starting with toys suitable from birth and working up to ideas for older children, so you can quickly jump to the deals most relevant to whoever you’re buying for.

If an audio player is on the Christmas list too, don’t miss our guides to the best Prime Day Toniebox deals and best Prime Day Yoto deals.

Prime Day pricing note: Amazon prices and deals can change quickly throughout the sale. The prices and discounts in this article were correct at the time of publication, but always check the price shown at Amazon before buying.

What is Prime Day?

Prime Day is Amazon’s major deals event for Prime members, with discounts across categories including toys, tech, homeware, beauty and more. It’s become a popular time for parents to start Christmas shopping, particularly if they’re hoping to save on some of the bigger presents.

You’ll need an Amazon Prime membership to access many of the offers. If you’re not already a member, eligible new customers can sign up for a 30-day free trial of Prime, which includes access to Prime deals as well as other membership benefits. The trial automatically converts to a paid membership unless you cancel before it ends.

For toy shoppers, Prime Day can be a good opportunity to find reductions on well-known brands as well as larger playsets, LEGO sets, role-play toys and gifts for different ages. Prices can change throughout the event, though, so it’s always worth checking the current price and saving before buying.

How we chose the best Prime Day toy deals

We know a big discount doesn’t always mean a brilliant buy, so we’ve looked beyond the headline percentages to find the toy deals that offer the best mix of saving and play value. We’ve considered both how much you’re saving in pounds and what you’re actually getting for your money.

We’ve also included several MadeForMums Toy Awards 2025 winners, so some of the deals below are on toys that have already impressed our expert judges, parent testers and children in real family homes.

Why we chose it: A £25.01 saving makes this one of the more useful baby deals in the sale. The gym also offers several ways to play as your baby grows, from lay-and-play to tummy time and take-along activities.

What we like

What to keep in mind

With £25.01 off the RRP, this is worth considering if a baby play gym is already on your shopping list. It’s designed to adapt as your baby develops, starting with overhead toys before moving into tummy-time activities and portable play.

The mix of lights, sounds, textures, a mirror and teethers gives babies plenty to explore, while the washable mat is a practical touch for everyday use.

Chicco First Dreams Purring Cat

Best for: Soothing and bedtime from birth

Award: Gold for Best baby tech toy, MadeForMums Toy Awards 2025

Why we chose it: The discount is smaller than some of the other deals in our round-up, but this soft interactive plush stands out because it won Gold for Best baby tech toy in the MadeForMums Toy Awards 2025. Our testers particularly liked its calming vibrations, music and super-soft feel.

This toy has been great, especially as Lylah has had a cold recently and she has found the sounds and music very relaxing. The vibrations seem to be soothing. She really enjoys the classical music and we often use it at bedtime to relax her. She enjoys the feel of the material as it is very soft.

Charlotte, mum of Toy Awards child judge Lylah, 4 months old

What we like

What to keep in mind

This was a big hit with our Toy Awards testers, who praised its soft feel and calming combination of vibrations and music. It’s the kind of toy that could become part of a regular wind-down routine, particularly for babies who find rhythmic sounds and gentle sensory input reassuring.

The saving isn’t huge, but with its Toy Awards Gold and strong parent feedback, it still earns a place in our baby picks.

Fisher-Price Soothe 'n Snuggle Otter, was £24.99, now £19.92 (Save £5.07 or 20%)

Fisher-Price Soothe 'n Snuggle Otter

Best for: Calming newborns from birth

Award: Silver for Best baby tech toy, MadeForMums Toy Awards 2025

Why we chose it: With 20% off, this familiar soothing plush drops below £20. It combines rhythmic breathing movements, gentle sounds, music and soft lights, and it won Silver for Best baby tech toy in the MadeForMums Toy Awards 2025.

Sienna has seemed to find the otter comforting and calming, enabling her to fall asleep quickly beside it.

Claire, mum of Toy Awards child judge Sienna, 2 months old

What we like

What to keep in mind

For under £20, this is a useful deal on a baby toy designed specifically around calming and comfort. The breathing motion is what makes it stand out from a standard musical plush, while the mix of music, white noise and soft light gives parents a few different options to try.

Its Toy Awards Silver also gives some extra reassurance, with our parent testers reporting that their babies found it calming and relaxing.

Prime Day toy deals for toddlers aged 18 months+

Ravensburger Play+ Pretend Play Set: Cool Drinks, RRP £34.99, now £18.99 (Save £16 or 46%)

Ravensburger Play+ Pretend Play Set Cool Drinks

Best for: Toddler role play aged 18 months+

Award: Gold for Best toddler toy, MadeForMums Toy Awards 2025

Why we chose it: The 46% discount takes this below £20, while the mix of lights, sounds, serving play and shape sorting gives toddlers several ways to engage with the set. It also impressed our MadeForMums Toy Awards judges, winning Gold in the Best toddler toy category.

My son really enjoyed playing with this toy. It was so multi-functional that he was able to use it for so many things. The bright lights of the jug and the noises are really attractive to him and he loved pretend play with it.

Aarti, mum of Toy Awards child judge Rian, 2

What we like

What to keep in mind

This adds a little more interactivity to familiar pretend-drinks play. Toddlers can choose a drink, pour it using the light-up jug and serve it, while the shape-sorting element offers another simple activity.

Its Toy Awards Gold also gives some extra reassurance on the play value. Our child judges particularly enjoyed the lights, sounds and pretend serving, while the serving tray doubling as storage is a useful practical detail for parents too.

VTech Toot-Toot Drivers Fix & Fuel Garage, RRP £49.99, now £25.99 (Save £24 or 48%)

_VTech Toot-Toot Drivers Fix & Fuel Garage

Best for: Vehicle play aged 1–5

Why we chose it: Reduced by 48%, this is one of the strongest offers. It combines vehicle play, role play and interactive SmartPoint features in a multi-level garage for £25.99.

What we like

What to keep in mind

At almost half its RRP, this is a strong option if Toot-Toot Drivers is already popular in your house. There’s plenty for toddlers and preschoolers to explore, from ramps and the repair lift to the car wash and fuel area.

The 6 SmartPoint locations add extra sounds, songs and phrases when compatible vehicles pass over them, while compatibility with other Toot-Toot cars gives the set room to grow.

Prime Day toy deals for ages 3+

LeapFrog Build-a-Slice Pizza Cart, RRP £59.99, now £31.99 (Save £28 or 47%)

_Leapfrog Build-a-Slice Pizza Cart

Best for: Pretend food play aged 3+

Why we chose it: A 47% reduction cuts £28 from the RRP, while the combination of more than 30 role-play pieces and interactive learning features gives children plenty to do beyond simply making pretend pizzas.

What we like

What to keep in mind

At just over £30 after the discount, this is one of the strongest pretend-play deals in the sale. Children can take orders, choose toppings, prepare a pizza and serve it to their customers.

The interactive spatula adds a simple educational element by identifying toppings, colours and shapes, while the generous accessory count gives children scope to switch between different restaurant roles.

Smoby My Beauty Centre 3-in-1, RRP £129.99, now £65.99 (Save £64 or 49%)

Smoby My Beauty Centre 3-in-1

Best for: Big beauty salon role play aged 3+

Award: Gold for Best role play toy, MadeForMums Toy Awards 2025

Why we chose it: A £64 saving makes this one of the biggest cash reductions in the round-up, while the large 3-in-1 design offers hairdressing, nail and make-up role play in one setup. It also won Gold for Best role play toy in the MadeForMums Toy Awards 2025.

My daughter has played with it almost everyday since we built it and she is constantly inviting us to her 'salon'. It was lovely to see her confidence blossom through play.

Joanne, mum of Toy Awards child judge Isla, 5

What we like

What to keep in mind

This is one of the biggest-ticket toys in the round-up, but the 49% discount cuts the price almost in half. Its size also means it can become a central role-play setup rather than a collection of smaller beauty accessories.

The Toy Awards judges were particularly impressed by the variety of role play it encouraged. Children can switch between styling hair, pretend make-up and nail play, while the till and card reader add another salon-style role. The folding design is useful when it needs to be stored away.

Pets Alive Mama Turtle Surprise, RRP £19.99, now £12.99 (Save £7 or 35%)

Pets Alive Mama Turtle Surprise

Best for: Surprise and interactive play aged 3+

Award: Bronze for Best interactive toy (under 5 years), MadeForMums Toy Awards 2025

Why we chose it: At £12.99, this is one of the lowest-priced deals in the list and combines interactive pet play, a surprise reveal and water play in one toy. It also won Bronze for Best interactive toy (under 5 years) in the MadeForMums Toy Awards 2025.

Thea, 4, was entranced by this toy. She kept saying it was 'all good' and her favourite bit was 'everything.' She loved splashing the turtles and taking them in and out of the tank.

Katie, mum of Toy Awards child judge Thea, 4 years old

What we like

What to keep in mind

The repeatable hatching feature gives this more longevity than many surprise toys. Once the babies have been revealed, children can continue using the turtle for interactive and water play.

Its Toy Awards Bronze adds some extra reassurance on play value too, with our child judges enjoying both the surprise element and finding different ways to play with the turtles after the reveal. At under £13, it is also one of the more affordable options in the round-up.

Thomas & Friends Load & Launch Barrel Delivery Set by Fisher-Price, RRP £54.99, now £37.99 (Save £17 or 31%)

Thomas & Friends Load & Launch Barrel Delivery Set

Best for: Thomas & Friends fans aged 3+

Award: Gold for Best playset (under £60), MadeForMums Toy Awards 2025

Why we chose it: This substantial train set is now under £40 and combines a motorised Thomas engine with around 18ft of track and several cargo-play features. It also won Gold for Best playset (under £60) in the MadeForMums Toy Awards 2025.

Our 3 year old has hardly stopped playing with it since it arrived, he’s completely captivated by the excitement and imagination it inspires. This set offers amazing value for money and endless entertainment. It’s imaginative, interactive, and full of charm.

Chloe, mum of Toy Awards child judge Lucas, 3 years old

What we like

What to keep in mind

This is a good option for children who want something more substantial than a small Thomas train set. The long track layout creates plenty of room for the motorised engine to travel, while the barrel-loading features add an extra action element.

Its Toy Awards Gold also gives some reassurance on repeat play. Our testers praised how much sustained interest it generated, while the bridge, tunnel and warehouse help create a more complete railway scene rather than a simple loop of track.

BRIO World Starter Train Set, RRP £44.99, now £26.49 (Save £18.50 or 41%)

_BRIO World Starter Train Set for Kids

Best for: A first wooden railway aged 3+

Why we chose it: With 41% off and a price comfortably below £30, this is a strong-value introduction to BRIO World. It includes a complete 22-piece setup with track, train, figures and a station.

What we like

What to keep in mind

This is the more budget-friendly BRIO pick in our shortlist and a useful starting point for children who are new to wooden railway play. The figure-of-eight setup gives them a complete layout from the start, with the bridge and station adding more opportunities for storytelling.

Compatibility with the wider BRIO World range also means families can add extra track, trains and accessories over time.

Barbie Dreamhouse Dollhouse Playset, was £349.99, now £189.97 (Save £160.02 or 46%)

Barbie Dreamhouse

Best for: Big-ticket role play aged 3+

Why we chose it: The Barbie Dreamhouse is one of the biggest-ticket toys in this round-up, so a saving of £160.02 makes this a particularly tempting Prime Day deal if it’s already on a Christmas list. With 10 different play areas and more than 75 storytelling pieces, there’s plenty here to keep Barbie fans busy.

What we like

What to keep in mind

At £189.97, this is still a substantial Christmas purchase, but the £160.02 saving makes it one of the biggest cash reductions in our round-up. There’s a lot packed into the Dreamhouse too, from the huge spiral slide and pool to lights, sounds, sleepover spaces and pet areas, giving children plenty of different ways to play.

BRIO World Lift & Load Warehouse Set, was £84.95, now £59.99 (Save £24.96 or 29%)

_BRIO World Lift & Load Warehouse Set for Kids

Best for: Wooden railway fans aged 3+

Why we chose it: With nearly £25 off, this is a useful saving on a substantial multi-level BRIO railway set, particularly for children who already enjoy wooden train play.

What we like

What to keep in mind

There’s nearly £25 off this substantial BRIO set, which gives children much more to do than simply run a train around a flat track. Cargo can be lifted, loaded and moved through the multi-level warehouse, while the bridges and sloping track add height to the layout.

Compatibility with the wider BRIO World range also means the warehouse can become part of a much larger wooden railway setup over time.

Prime Day toy deals for ages 4+

Jurassic World Rebirth Rumble 'N Rampage Distortus Rex, RRP £54.99, now £27.52 (Save £27.47 or 50%)

Jurassic World Rebirth Rumble 'N Rampage Distortus Rex

Best for: Dinosaur fans aged 4+

Award: Silver for Best action figure, MadeForMums Toy Awards 2025

Why we chose it: With 50% off, this is the biggest percentage discount in our current shortlist. It’s also a large, dramatic dinosaur figure with roaring, chomping and attack actions for imaginative Jurassic World play, and it won Silver for Best action figure in the MadeForMums Toy Awards 2025.

Our daughter loved loved loved this dinosaur toy! Not only it is a realistic-looking dinosaur but it also makes roaring noises and it moves around when a button is pushed. It’s been good fun watching her play and pretending there is a real dinosaur in the house.

Marketa, mum of Toy Awards child judge Phoebe, 5 years old

What we like

What to keep in mind

At just over £27, this offers a lot of dinosaur for the money. The Distortus Rex combines its sizeable build with movement, sounds and attack features that should suit children who enjoy recreating dramatic Jurassic World encounters.

Its Toy Awards Silver adds extra reassurance on play value, with our testers especially enjoying the realistic look, movement and roaring effects. The articulated design also means it isn’t limited to one action, as children can pose it for battles, use the swinging arm and chomping features or incorporate it into a wider dinosaur collection.

Hot Wheels City Ultimate T-Rex Transporter, RRP £89.99, now £45.99 (Save £44 or 49%)

Hot Wheels City Ultimate T-Rex Transporter

Best for: Hot Wheels playsets

Why we chose it: At 49% off, this is one of the biggest percentage discounts in our shortlist. The £44 saving is substantial too, while the toy combines vehicle storage, racing and transformation play in one set.

What we like

What to keep in mind

At £45.99 rather than £89.99, this is one of the strongest toy deals we found. The playset works as both a transporter and an action toy: children can load it with cars, roll it along to "eat" vehicles and transform it into a Robo T-Rex.

There’s plenty of repeat play built in too, from racing cars down its back to launching vehicles from its mouth. Being able to store more than 20 cars is a useful bonus for children who already have a growing Hot Wheels collection.

Jurassic World Bite N Blast Mosasaurus, RRP £44.99, now £29.44 (Save £15.55 or 35%)

__Mattel Jurassic World Bite N Blast Mosasaurus & Mini Dinosaur

Best for: Jurassic World fans aged 4+

Why we chose it: At 35% off, this brings a substantial Jurassic World action figure below £30, with a distinctive bite-and-blast play feature and an included mini dinosaur.

What we like

What to keep in mind

If you’re shopping specifically for a Jurassic World fan, this is a useful sub-£30 option. The main attraction is the Bite 'N Blast action, which lets children swallow the included Dilophosaurus and then fire it back out.

Its large size and articulated fins and tail also give it plenty of presence for imaginative dinosaur and underwater play.

Playmobil Pirates Small Pirate Vessel, RRP £49.99, now £28.79 (Save £21.20 or 42%)

Playmobil 71418 Pirates Small Pirate Vessel

Best for: Pirate role play aged 4+

Why we chose it: With 42% off and a £21.20 saving, this is one of the better sub-£30 playset deals. It includes a floatable pirate ship, figures and a generous selection of accessories.

What we like

What to keep in mind

At under £30, this is one of the more affordable substantial playset deals in the round-up. The floatable ship provides a strong base for pirate adventures, with working cannons and treasure-hunting accessories adding more storytelling possibilities.

There are 101 pieces in total, giving children plenty of scope for battles at sea, treasure hunts and their own imaginative pirate stories.

Prime Day toy deals for ages 6–7+

VTech Kidi DJ Mix, RRP £59.99, now £31.49 (Save £28.50 or 48%)

_Vtech Kidi DJ Mix

Best for: Music-loving kids aged 6+

Why we chose it: With 48% off and a £28.50 saving, this is one of the strongest deals in the sale. It also packs in plenty of creative features, including a turntable, sound pads, Bluetooth connectivity and track recording.

What we like

What to keep in mind

At £31.49, this is a particularly good-value option for children who like experimenting with music rather than simply listening to it. They can trigger sounds, add effects with the turntable and record their own mixes.

Bluetooth connectivity means they can also connect an external music player, while the microphone, disco lights and recording function add more scope for performances and independent creative play.

LEGO City Passenger Aeroplane, RRP £89.99, now £55.99 (Save £34 or 38%)

_LEGO City Passenger Aeroplane 60367

Best for: LEGO City fans aged 7+

Why we chose it: We limited LEGO to two products, and this combines a £34 saving with 38% off. It’s also a substantial set with a large passenger plane, airport vehicles and 9 minifigures.

What we like

What to keep in mind

This gives children much more than the aircraft itself, with airport staff, passengers and ground vehicles included to create a fuller airport scene.

The removable roof makes the plane’s interior easy to access, while the 9 minifigures and ground-support vehicles create lots of opportunities to act out boarding, baggage handling and preparing the aircraft for departure.

Prime Day toy deals for ages 8+

Clementoni Smart-Tech Greenhouse, RRP £29.99, now £18.04 (Save £11.95 or 40%)

Clementoni Smart-Tech Greenhouse

Best for: STEM learning aged 8+

Award: Gold for Best tech toy, MadeForMums Toy Awards 2025

Why we chose it: At 40% off, this is an affordable hands-on science project that goes beyond a one-off experiment, using sensors to help children monitor real growing conditions. It also won Gold for Best tech toy in the MadeForMums Toy Awards 2025.

Rocco has repeatedly said this is his favourite toy he’s ever received! He’s been very passionate about growing his seeds and has loved every stage. His curiosity was well and truly sparked.

Charlotte, mum of Toy Awards child judge Rocco, 9 years old

What we like

What to keep in mind

For less than £20, this is a strong option for children interested in science, plants or hands-on experiments. Rather than simply completing one activity, they can monitor temperature, humidity and light while watching their plants grow.

Its Toy Awards Gold adds extra reassurance on educational and repeat-play value, with our testers praising how it sparked curiosity and encouraged children to experiment with different growing conditions. That ongoing element should give it more longevity than many science kits, although children will need to keep caring for the plants after the initial setup.

LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle: The Main Tower, RRP £229.99, now £142.99 (Save £87 or 38%)

Hogwarts

Best for: Harry Potter fans aged 10+

Why we chose it: This is a substantial saving on one of the biggest LEGO Harry Potter sets in the sale, with £87 off the RRP. The 2,135-piece build is packed with recognisable Hogwarts details, interactive features and a strong line-up of characters, giving it plenty of appeal for both building and imaginative play.

What we like

What to keep in mind

This is a much bigger build than Luna Lovegood’s House, with lots for Harry Potter fans to discover as they work their way through the castle. Familiar scenes including Fluffy’s room, the Flying Keys, Wizard Chess and the Mirror of Erised give it plenty of play value once the building is finished.

At £87 off, it’s also one of the strongest cash savings in our Prime Day toy picks, which makes the high price a little easier to swallow if a large LEGO Harry Potter set is already on the Christmas list.

How to find the best Prime Day toy deals

Look at the pounds saved as well as the percentage

A big percentage discount is eye-catching, but it doesn’t always tell you how much money you’re actually saving. A 40% reduction on a £20 toy is very different from 40% off a much bigger playset, so it’s worth looking at both figures before deciding whether a deal feels worthwhile.

The Smoby My Beauty Centre, for example, has 49% off and saves £64, while some cheaper toys may have a similarly strong percentage reduction but a much smaller cash saving. For bigger Christmas presents in particular, the amount saved in pounds can be just as important as the headline discount.

Check the current selling price

Amazon deals can move quickly throughout a sale, and prices can go up or down during the event. Before buying, check the current selling price as well as the reference price shown on the product page so you know exactly what you’re paying.

It can also help to think about whether the current price feels good value for the toy itself, rather than focusing only on the size of the discount.

Start with toys already on your Christmas list

Prime Day is most useful when it brings down the price of something you were already planning to buy. A smaller discount on the right toy can be much better value for your family than a huge reduction on something your child has never shown much interest in.

If you already have a Christmas list, it can be worth checking those products first before browsing the wider sale. That can also help you avoid impulse buys just because a deal looks tempting.

Check the recommended age

A good deal is only useful if the toy is suitable for the child you’re buying for. Check the manufacturer’s recommended age, especially for construction sets, science kits and toys with lots of small parts.

It’s also worth thinking about your child’s interests and stage of development. Two toys with the same age recommendation can offer very different levels of challenge and play value.

Compare deals from the same brand

Some brands have lots of toys discounted at the same time, but that doesn’t mean every offer is equally strong. Compare the percentage saving, the cash saving and what’s included before choosing between similar products.

Check what’s included

When comparing playsets, look beyond the headline price. Sets that include figures, vehicles, track, furniture or lots of accessories may offer better overall value than a cheaper-looking option that needs extra purchases before children can really start playing.

It’s also worth checking whether dolls, batteries, figures or refill items are included, as these can add to the overall cost.

Think about how much play it offers

The best-value toy isn’t always the cheapest one. A toy that can be played with in lots of different ways, adapted as a child gets older or combined with toys they already own may offer better long-term value.

Open-ended sets, role-play toys, construction toys and expandable play systems can be especially good examples, as they often encourage repeat play rather than being used once and forgotten.

Don’t forget about storage and space

Some of the biggest Prime Day savings are on large playsets, but they can take up a lot of room. Before buying a doll’s house, large track set or sizeable construction model, it’s worth checking the dimensions and thinking about where it will live once Christmas is over.

Remember that Amazon prices can change

The prices and discounts in this article were correct at the time of publication, but Amazon prices can change quickly during Prime Day and stock can sell out.

Always check the final price shown on Amazon before completing your purchase, particularly if you’ve had a product open in a browser tab for a while.
