Kim Kardashian has given a glimpse into the reality of raising four children while juggling a hugely busy career, revealing she has five nannies who work on rotation. And while the star's life is far from ordinary, her life is overrun with squishies just like thousands of other families.

The reality star, 45, shares North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, eight, and Psalm, seven, with ex-husband Ye, formerly known as Kanye West. While one nanny is on duty at any given time, Kardashian says she remains hands-on with the everyday routines that matter to her.
She told The Sunday Times Style magazine that she takes her children to school and collects them every day, while making sure the family eats dinner together each evening.
Kim Kardashian says she is an ‘intermediate-strict’ parent
Kardashian described her parenting style as “intermediate-strict”, while stressing that she is also patient and affectionate with her children.
“I think I am an intermediate-strict parent,” she told The Sunday Times Style. “I’m extremely patient and loving. I still have a kid sleep in my bed when they want. I read books with the kids every night.”
The interview also offered a glimpse of the chaos that can come with having four children around. Kardashian was interrupted by younger children Chicago and Psalm, while she was also walking on a treadmill.
“We’re not fighting over squishies, OK,” she said. “Sweetie, I am on my Zoom. I love you.”
Kardashian went on to joke about how difficult it is to keep track of the children's toys.
“I just lifted my purse to grab something and there’s a squishy in there. I looked out my bathroom window this morning and there’s a squishy on the roof of the pergola outside by the pool.”
She worries about her children's relationship with fame
Kardashian also opened up about the challenges of raising children in the public eye, particularly as eldest daughter North begins to establish her own career.
North released her debut EP this year and has appeared on the cover of Dazed magazine. Kardashian said she is conscious of making sure her daughter does not feel pressured to take every opportunity that comes her way.
“I do worry about it. Each kid does what they’re comfortable with. So, my little ones come around when I’m filming but they don’t really do storylines. North loves it a little bit more than the rest. I hold her back. All she wants to do is forward-facing projects. And so it’s like us really kind of trying to savour those moments and not doing everything that comes her way, so we can really make sure that we manage it the right way.”
She added that she and West communicate more closely when it comes to North's music career.
“And with her, since it’s more music-related, that is something that her dad and I have better communication about. We make sure that we’re aligned and that she’s in projects that we both approve.”
Kim Kardashian says she talks to her children about wealth
With her children growing up with considerable wealth and privilege, Kardashian said she regularly talks to them about the importance of hard work and gratitude.
“It’s something I talk to my kids about constantly, about hard work, never taking things for granted, always having gratitude,” she said. “I lead by example. I’m really open with them about my work, all of the hard work that I put into my law studies, and they’re proud. I think that you can have a big life and still have that spirit in you. But it is more challenging.”

For Kardashian, the comments offer a picture of family life that combines significant support at home with the everyday routines she says are important to her, from the school run to bedtime stories and sitting down for dinner together.
