Created with feedback from 55,000 girls and women over two years, the new collection puts comfort, practicality and self-expression front and centre, while also giving members much more flexibility over what they wear to meetings and activities.

Girlguiding's new uniforms put choice first
For the first time, members across Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers will only need to wear a Girlguiding top to be considered "in uniform".
The change comes after extensive consultation found many girls preferred being able to choose the rest of their outfit themselves, helping them feel more comfortable and confident.
The redesigned collection, created by Hemingway Design, includes 30 clothing items alongside 15 accessories and neckerchiefs. Many pieces feature practical details including hidden waistband pockets, thumb holes and badge sashes that can also be worn as cross-body bags.
Thousands of girls helped shape the designs
According to Girlguiding, the redesign was informed by feedback from 55,000 girls and women and aims to balance the charity's long history with a more modern look.
Felicity Oswald, Girlguiding's chief executive officer, said: "The new range is all about providing girls with the freedom to express themselves, whilst feeling part of our amazing organisation … With practicality, comfort and sustainability at the very core of the designs."
Girlguiding says the updated uniforms are designed to help girls feel they belong while reflecting their individual style.

"We know that self-expression and confidence go hand in hand. With girls in guiding being 30% more confident, the introduction of the new uniform is designed to further nurture that confidence and foster a true sense of belonging."

Survey finds girls value freedom over what they wear
Alongside the launch, Girlguiding shared findings from a survey of 2,000 girls aged six to 16 across the UK, carried out in June.
The research found:
- 93% said they feel most comfortable when they can choose how to style themselves.
- 47% said they feel most confident when they can choose what they wear.
- 33% said freedom of self-expression makes them feel most confident.
- 41% said strict school uniform rules prevent them from expressing themselves.
The charity says the more flexible approach to its own uniform reflects what girls told them matters most.
New accessories and upcycling opportunities
Members and volunteers will be able to personalise neckerchiefs and accessories for local, regional and national events.
Girlguiding has also announced free workshops over the summer where families can upcycle older uniforms into new accessories, helping extend the life of existing clothing rather than replacing it immediately.

Angellica Bell welcomes the new look
Girlguiding ambassador and broadcaster Angellica Bell said the redesigned collection gives members more freedom to make the uniform their own.
She said: "The new uniform gives girls and volunteers the freedom to style it the way that suits them … [and] empowers girls and volunteers to embrace their individuality."
A fresh chapter for a historic organisation
Founded 116 years ago, Girlguiding has updated its uniforms nine times throughout its history. The original Guide uniform featured a blue skirt, stockings, a jumper and a neckerchief, while Brownies traditionally wore brown tunic dresses.
Over the decades, uniforms evolved to reflect changing fashions and activities, with brighter colours arriving in the 1960s and T-shirts and shorts introduced in the 1980s as outdoor adventures became a bigger part of the programme.
