The former Made In Chelsea star, 35, who shares Leo with her husband Ryan Libbey, posted from hospital this week after doctors discovered her son was suffering from bleeding tonsils.
The update comes just days after Louise revealed she has started fertility treatment as she and Ryan consider expanding their family following her traumatic first birth.
Louise shared a photo of Leo lying on a hospital bed on Instagram, admitting it had been a frightening start to the year for their family.

Posting to her Instagram Stories, Louise wrote: “Nothing like a wild start to the year.
“Hopefully just a temporary blip. Anyone else’s child had bleeding tonsils before?”
Bleeding tonsils are considered fairly uncommon and, according to the NHS, can be caused by severe tonsillitis, infection or irritation such as tonsil stones.
Louise later reassured followers that Leo was doing well, sharing a photo of the sunrise from the hospital room and thanking NHS staff for their care.
She wrote: “Thanks for your kind messages.
“He is doing really really well and as always has been looked after incredibly well by angels of our universe (I feel a suitable LinkedIn job description for nurses and doctors).”
“I think I have the most supportive mum following”
The mum of one also praised her online community for rallying around her during a stressful time.
“I think I have the most supportive mum following on here ever,” she added. “You guys are so brilliant, so practical, resourceful and everyone has dealt with some kind of drama at some point over their life so between 1.5 million of you I think we have nearly everything covered.”
Fans were quick to send messages of support, with many parents sharing similar experiences to reassure Louise that bleeding tonsils can often be treated quickly.
Louise’s traumatic birth and ongoing health battles
Leo’s hospital stay comes against the backdrop of Louise’s own long and complex health journey since giving birth in 2021.
Louise has previously spoken openly about nearly dying during Leo’s birth after an emergency C-section led to severe haemorrhaging. Both mum and baby spent time in intensive care, with Louise remaining in hospital for a month following the birth.
She later revealed she was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder after witnessing herself “nearly bleeding to death” during labour.
Since then, Louise has undergone several surgeries, including the partial removal of her colon and the fitting of a stoma bag, after developing serious complications including ulcerative colitis and lupus.
Speaking to Lorraine Kelly in May 2024, Louise said: “I will never be mentally strong enough to carry another child, I have Asherman’s syndrome where my uterus is glued together.”
She added: “I had a year with no periods. I had surgery to fix that and then I had another haemorrhage. Doctors said we do not want to risk doing more surgery in that area, we want you to live.”
Considering another baby after years of uncertainty
Despite everything, Louise has recently shared that she is feeling stronger and more hopeful about the future.
She previously said she feels “95 per cent” back to her old self, adding: “I genuinely feel lucky to come out the other side.”
Earlier this week, Louise revealed on her Substack that she and Ryan are taking steps towards having another child. In a post titled “All I want for 2026… is a baby!”, she explained that she has started fertility injections.

She wrote: “The truth is, I’ve sat on this desire to expand our family for a long time.
“I’ve always wanted to have kids. I actually wanted to have a big family, which meant a lot of kids.”
Louise also shared that she had joined a surrogacy Facebook group two years ago, although she did not confirm whether surrogacy is part of their current plan.
She added: “I’d love to continue throwing words onto the page because I have a million things jumping into my head, and so much knowledge to share re: what we’re actually doing, what we’ve already tried but my phone alarm has just gone off signalling that I need to go and take 187.5ml of menopur, so I’ll have to save those updates for next time.”

For now, Louise’s focus is firmly on Leo’s recovery, with fans relieved to hear that he is doing well and receiving excellent care.
