A televised version of the touring theatre production, Bluey’s Big Play – The Stage Show, premiered on Disney+ on 16 March. Later this spring, a collection of short Bluey minisodes will also land on the streaming service for the first time.
The news will be welcome for families who have been waiting for new content since the last full episode aired in 2024. And the demand is clearly still huge, with Bluey named the most streamed programme in the US in 2025 for the second year running, clocking up 45.2 billion minutes watched.
A televised version of Bluey’s touring stage show is now on Disney+
If your child never managed to see the Heelers live on stage, the new Disney+ special brings the experience straight into the living room.
Bluey’s Big Play – The Stage Show is a televised version of the popular touring theatre production, with Bluey, Bingo, Bandit and Chilli brought to life by puppeteers on stage.
The production is based on the Emmy award-winning animated series and features an original story by Bluey creator Joe Brumm, with music composed by Joff Bush.
Bluey minisodes are coming to Disney+ in May
Families will also be able to watch a collection of Bluey minisodes on Disney+ from 20 May.
The bite-sized episodes run between one and three minutes each and focus on playful moments between Bluey and her younger sister Bingo.
The shorts highlight funny and sweet moments in the show, and give fans more insight into the characters and world of Bluey.
The minisodes were previously released online and in Australia, but this will be the first time they are available to stream on Disney+ for many viewers.
The collection includes:
- Humpty Dumpty
- Green Bottles
- Flying Saucer
- Tea Party
- Pea Pod Sausages
- Old Macdonald
- Honk
- Lollipop Song
- Cinderella
- Make Mum Laugh
It’s been a while since the last full Bluey episode
The last full-length episode of Bluey aired in April 2024, meaning many families have been waiting a while for new stories from the Heeler family.
That episode, Surprise, followed the longer special The Sign, which saw Bluey struggling with the possibility that the family might move house. In the end, the sale fell through and the Heelers stayed put.
Surprise then jumped forward in time, showing an older Bluey returning to visit her parents with a child of her own, a twist that sparked plenty of discussion among fans.
There is no confirmation yet about when new full-length episodes might arrive, but the minisodes should offer some fresh Bluey moments while families wait.
More Bluey experiences are coming beyond Disney+
The Bluey universe is also expanding beyond the streaming platform, as BBC Studios and Disney have already confirmed that a feature-length Bluey film is planned for cinemas on 6 August 2027.
Meanwhile, new in-person experiences are launching at Disney parks.
From 22 March 2026, visitors to Disneyland Park can enjoy “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!” at the reimagined Fantasyland Theatre, which will transform into a fun fair at Bluey’s school. Bluey and Bingo will appear throughout the day alongside performers and musicians.
Over at Walt Disney World Resort, Bluey and Bingo will also appear at Disney’s Animal Kingdom from 26 May 2026. After taking the Wildlife Express Train to Conservation Station, families will be able to play games inspired by the show, meet the characters and learn about some of their favourite Australian animals.
And for families heading on holiday at sea, Bluey and Bingo are also appearing on selected Disney Cruise Line sailings with meet and greets and dance parties.
